Lyme Disease
The CDC has reported over 300,000 new Lyme disease cases each year which start with the transmission of ticks from deers to humans. This tick-borne illness is the most common transmitted disease in the US. One way to treat these diseases is the use of hyperbaric oxygen to increase oxygen in the body which is lethal to this bacterium. Many physicians are recommending Hyperbaric Oxygen as it is effective in pressurizing the oxygen inside the bacteria. Early treatment of Lyme disease is possible with antibiotics, but if complications arise and delay in treatment may leave risk of complications. This is where HBOT plays a critical role in improving symptoms and making the bacteria die out as they cannot develop resistance to a high pressurized environment of oxygen concentration.
