Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
Traumatic Brain Injury or TBI for short, occurs from a sudden head injury that can occur from accidents raging from falling or car collision. If there is a sudden jolt or blow to the head, then you likely received a TBI. A concussion is normal for many people to have headache and confusion, but the second level being a traumatic brain injury, can be life threatening and become fatal. Many studies have leaned into Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy as a great benefit to healing and improving brain function after a TBI. HBOT can increase tissue oxygen in the brain and restore blood supply to the brain. Results may vary person to person, but the overall benefits are still in research and experiments. According to the CDC, 138 people are affected by TBI injuries everyday and more than 50,000 people suffer on a hospital bed every year.
